http://www.fight-vids.co.ukhttp://www.fight-vids.co.uk/forum/This is some very rare footage, taken from bruce lee's personal collection.Among many other things, one of the great practices that Bruce Lee had was to film his own training sessions, and the sessions of his students. He would then watch over these tapes again and again, with a microphone, and narrate and comment on them. For himself, it helped him to see his own flaws. For his students, it allowed them to learn much more effectively. As far as I'm aware, all of these students would have been making kind "donations" to the Lee estate ;)Simply awesome to see the man in action without any movie script or acting.

Jan 9, 2009 - You are mistaken. Try it: After you have you man under control continue using the same amount of force, See what the charges are. Excessive is self explanatory: You did too much, which can just as well mean you hit him more -times- than necessary. What do you think they call that? You think they have separate term for that?
lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - You know what lethal means, right? A lethal technique/ level of force/substance/dose/tool/or intention has the -potential- to cause death, whether it actually does or not. Zero potential to cause death: Not lethal. Have your lawyer show me one case where a defendant was charged w/using lethal force without it meeting this standard.
lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Just for fun, Kareem should plant his kicking foot right down on the ground, under the "missed" target point, rather than bring it back, & then snap his quickest jab or backfist to the chest. I bet Bruce gets tagged, & they both have a good laugh.

Jan 9, 2009 - when did roberto duran fight? and under what weight class?
lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - I'm confused; You must have a computer, so: 1/Google "boxrec roberto duran" & hit "career" link. 2/ Google "wikipedia roberto duran". There's more, but these will each have way more info than I can fit in the allowable space here. (After you check him out, please dont respond how Lee would have beat Duran: I already know you think Lee is better, just as you already know that I think duran is better. That argument is over. At this point we're just collecting info on great fighters, ok?)
thedecimator107 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Hold On LoL...is someone here saying roberto duran would beat bruce lee..anyone who thinks bruce lee can be defeated..go to his wikipedia page..look at his physical feats..than tell me again if bruce lee can be defeated by ANY BOXER. these are opinions so dont bash me i do respect yours,i just dont see it happening.
cigma9 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - I honestly Believe Bruce lee wouldnt Be able to handle a Punch From Duran lol , he might be super fast but as soon as one lands its over. Duran Hits Very Very hard. Bruce Lee Believes in speed 100%.What counters speed is Timing and Power, Which Duran is great at.
cigma9 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - So you Think Bruce lee has Power, nah the only attack he has to produce power is his sidekick, which is easily Avoidable by a profesional Fighter. His Fight style he trained in is all about Speed and using these Weak Arm Punches Very fast in a circular motion... No real Power can be produced, so dont even say he hit hard with his fists
cigma9 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Another thing if u take Durans Gloves off u will truly See speed and Power, Every boxer is fast, Some just faster then others. but if u take Gloves off of any Boxer he is Very fast , and the faster Fighters are even Faster.. get meh.. So Speed is always there.. Boxing being an anerobic Sport where Explosion of speed and power on ur opponent is key
nusrathussein Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - ok lazur1...i wont offer my opinions on bruce lee vs roberto duran. but tell me some other names of boxers from that era, as i am not too well versed in the 70's era.
lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Down to bantamweights of the 70s: Carlos Zarate, a Mexican who fought weighing between the 1-teens and the low 120s. 5'8", tall for a bantam. He's the only fighter in history who has -2- KO streaks 20 or longer, (23 & 28, w/1 decision between, or else he'd have a streak of 52 kos!). Check him out.
lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Later in the 70s" 6'1", (-very- tall for his weight), Tommy Hearns began his career @ 147lbs! (This is about what Lee's top weight was when he was focused on training for muscular mass.) Hearns would later become the #1 ranked middleweight, & still later, light-heavyweight champ. As a welterweight, he ko'd his 1st 13 men in 3 rds or less, ko'd his 1st 17 total & ko'd 28 of his 1st 31.
batofun Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Cigma9, u must be out of your freaking mind if u think Durans can beat bruce lee or knock him out. Duran will not have a chance to even touch Bruce, he is too fast and has power. As for power in a punch, he can knock out a karake expert in 3 minute. Duran is good but compare to Bruce Lee, he is no match. so don't talk garbage when u don't know anything about Brucego watch some of his demonstrations and historythen u will know how ignorant you are
cigma9 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Leme tell u somthin. Batofun Every man Feels pain. Bruce lee isnt Superman lol..I gave reason why Duran would win.. all u talk is crap about stupid demonstrations Key word (Demonstrations) On average Joes i can tell u Durans fight Record tell me Bruces. and Also Duran Fought SUgar ray lenord Who is very very very very fast. and Destroyed him. If you dont know who that is the STFU and stop talking about Fighters and Martial arts cuz u dont even know wtf u are talking about.
gunslinger37 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - I don't know about sidekicks being easily avoidable. Please go watch Cung Le fights and tell me why those fighters can't avoid it....
LuIzInHoAlExLC Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - He were the mester, anyone can ever suprass him...
wbgorn Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - I'm pretty sure if you were to ask Duran if he wanted to fight Bruce Lee in his prime, he would say, "No". I pretty sure no one in their right mind would've wanted to fight him. He got his back broke in a fight and while he was rehabing he developed a new fighting system that transended fighting. It's good to defend the fighters you like, but come on Bruce was a physcial and fighting machine, he was put on this earth to fight.
funiron Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Bruce Lee was awesome!! He was a constructive criticism kinda teacher with positive influence. I am soo glad I watched this.
DanielLacayo1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Roberto Duránborn to be a champion!.He finally retired in January 2002 at age 50 (having previously retired in 1998) following a bad car crash in October 2001, with a professional record of 119 fights, 103 wins with 70 KOs. Up until the second Ray Leonard fight, he was trained by legendary boxing trainer Ray Arcel.70 ko's
DanielLacayo1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - rip mr Bruce.!
rikkimayg Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - waht i really like about his training techniques is that he lets that guy figue it out for himself, he only adds in little comments on how to improve.. now most people wuld just show them how to do it and when they stuffed it up they wuld show them again.. i respect that kind of training
JeeYaoKuneDo Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - That's exactly how I want to be trained as well. But very hard to find schools with teachers like that. Time is money, and they have so many students, so it's easier to just make the ignorant students copy techniques. Good day, rikkimayg.
timoxe Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - What a joke, any Jeet Kune Do peeps want to spar or fight for money??? Anyone??? We will set it up in L.A. let me know???
theguythatcould Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - ya a lot of places train their students with a lot of katas (air punches/kicks). it's very ineffective. hands on learning like this is better

lazur1 Says:
Jan 9, 2009 - Yeah, that's why I said there're 1000 of ways: According to positioning. I didn't mean collapse legs, I meant relax the neck a split-second. Legs would be full-powered. So: U're surprised from behind, u've trained, ur sensitvity is good, u'r reacting before the choke is sunk in. U lean forward, u feel tension of ur man pulling u back, u go back w/him, but faster than he expected, head butt. It's l over in less than a second. I've seen it work.
